Cero Generation appoints Stand to raise profile and power a conversation about solar in Europe

Stand has been appointed by Cero Generation – the leading European solar energy developer – to raise its profile across Europe and power a conversation around the role of solar in the transition to a secure, net-zero future.
Many citizens across Europe are aware of the role solar plays in the transition to green energy, with the EU seeing a record-amount of solar power generation this summer (12%). Current market trends show that solar has the potential to meet up to 20% of the EU’s electricity demand by 2040, emphasising its essential role in many countries’ legally binding net-zero targets.
Despite the clear need for investment in solar and other renewable energy sources like onshore wind, there is still a lack of clarity around the development journey and the role of developers in communities. Citizens, communities, and local governments across Europe can often be concerned by projects in their areas, with this impacting planning, grid connections and go live dates, ultimately slowing the transition to a net-zero future.
Communications consultancy, Stand, kicked off its work with a full insight and strategy phase, to solidify the company’s positioning and communications strategy. It will now continue with its press office and digital channels working to demystify the development journey and highlight the increasing need for renewable energy across Europe, as well as supporting the organisation’s ambitious growth plans. It will also be supporting the fast-growing organisation – which is an independent portfolio company of Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG) – build a common purpose across Europe.
Stand has a track record of success in this space, with its sustainnovation team working with a client roster including Zenobē Energy, a leading battery storage and EV fleet specialist, and Balance Power, an independent energy developer.
Laura Oliphant, Managing Director at Stand, said:
“We’re thrilled to be working with Cero Generation to help it scale at such a critical time. It’s the decisive decade for countries across Europe when it comes to action against climate change, so humanising the language around solar, and building understanding and support for such a vital clean energy solution ahead of 2050 net-zero targets is critical.
“At Stand, we’re committed to impact and driving change, and working with businesses like Cero who believe in a better future – for this and every generation – is a clear alignment with our ethos. We’re excited to see the role that communications can play in helping Cero achieve its mission of accelerating the transition to a secure, net-zero future”.
Jason Rowlands, Chief People and Performance Officer at Cero, said:
“Over the last few years, our team has been focused on bringing essential renewable projects to communities across Europe and building up our 10GW pipeline. It’s clear that communications will now play a crucial role in our next phase of growth, with plans to expand our team and communicate with audiences around the role of solar in providing secure, clean energy to communities across Europe.
“With its expertise in sustainability and energy, as well as its commitment to working with businesses that have impact at their heart, we’re excited to partner with Stand on this journey”.
