Stand has been appointed by Big Change – a charity founded to transform the way we support the next generation – to expand its Big Education Conversation initiative, in collaboration with the LEGO Foundation.

Big Change is a catalyst for the transformation of education systems so every young person is set up to thrive in life, not just in exams. Working globally and nationally in the UK, we work in partnership to pursue and unlock support for system transformation, with a focus on three drivers: shifting purpose (redefining goals of education), power (expanding voice and agency) and practice (unlocking innovation).

This initiative, a global expansion of its Big Education Conversation, is supporting people and communities around the world to come together to talk about what education is really for, to generate ideas and commitments to change.

Working collaboratively with the LEGO Foundation, Stand is supporting the global launch of Big Change’s England based initiative, to deliver an innovative digital strategy that involves partners in 11 countries worldwide.

Stand will be working with a Project Council of young people, and with youth-led organisations like YouthxYouth and Restless Development to deliver youth-led content. This will support intergenerational conversations on the transformation of education, encouraging inclusive public dialogue between young people, communities, and decision makers across the world.

Georgie Howlett, Director at Stand, said:

We’re thrilled to have been appointed by Big Change as its partner for this initiative.

As behaviour change experts, and as a consultancy that has a legacy working in the education space and with young people, this brief is very much up our street.

We can’t wait to put young people at the heart of decision-making and to do our part to help transform the system.”

Caireen Goddard, Senior Director of Impact at Big Change, said:

“It’s brilliant to be working with the team at Stand to get the Big Education Conversation going around the world and to launch with young people at the UN Transforming Education Summit.”
